Michael Kiwanuka is gonna be huge! Fact.
And he’s a top bloke.
Totally wish I’d had a shave before this photo!

Last week at Birmingham’s HMV Institute things got kinda epic.
Mastodon & The Dillinger Escape Plan in the same night = Happy Steve.
I was shooting for Rock Sound mag…
Tonight I was shooting The Devil Wears Prada for Rock Sound magazine.
They chose their name before the movie came out.
On Monday night we were up in Manchester to see the magnificent Black Keys at the O2 Apollo.
The Black Keys are Evelyne’s favourite band so we’d been looking forward to this one for a long time and they didn’t disappoint. You can see my review on the Birmingham Live site HERE
The Apollo is where I saw my first ever gig when I was 14 – AC/DC! It’s a great venue and it was the perfect setting for an evening with Ohio’s finest…
Twenty Eleven. A very good year.
I’m so grateful that I get to do something I’m passionate about as a career and last year was our best year yet. So many amazing moments!
It’s all about the people we meet along the way though and I can’t thank those people enough.
My wife, Evelyne…. There’s no way to sum up how much I love her and how important she is to me. She’s the best!
My boys, Elliott, Isaac & Jonas. They’ve taken over our lives and make us laugh out loud every day. I couldn’t love them more.
Our clients. I can’t believe what amazing clients we continue to book. They’re all so welcoming and we never take for granted the privilege of being allowed into their lives and to witness their most important moments. We have made a lot of great new friends this year.
Add to that the wedding bloggers, magazines, bands, workshop attendees, companies that help us out with shoots, other photographers…. the list goes on.
Thank you. Here’s to an amazing 2012.
So, here are some of my favourite images from 2011. It’s a varied collection. I had too many for one post though so here is Part 1…. Part 2 will follow tomorrow… Enjoy!
Taken at the V Festival in Stafford
Last night, Evelyne & I were out and about on the town in Birmingham.
A meal with friends at The Mailbox. A few drinks in The Victoria. And in between we popped into the HMV Institute to see the brilliant M83 play to a packed house.
There was only one photographer shooting the gig…. Me.
After delivering one of my fave albums of 2011 I was pretty chuffed to get to photograph Justin and the boys in Manchester and Birmingham recently.
The lighting made it tricky to shoot but the music sounded magnificent.
Here are my faves from the Birmingham show…
I haven’t exactly made a secret of the fact that I’m a huge fan of Kathleen Edwards.
She recently supported the amazing Bon Iver and I was lucky enough to catch her in Manchester and Birmingham.
These photos are from the Birmingham gig. Bon Iver pics to follow shortly…
My two favourite Canadian girls… together at last!
