I have a crush on a gorgeous Canadian girl called Evelyne. I cleverly tricked her into marrying me. We made some little people called Elliott, Isaac & Jonas.
I love Daddies brown sauce, dark chocolate, Pearl Jam, scuba diving, direct flights, Jack Daniel’s but only with coke, countryside pubs, funky hotels, Alan Partridge, travelling in Asia, Evelyne’s chicken pasta, can-do people, Bose noise-cancelling headphones and the perfect cup of tea.

I’ve been a fan of Jonathan Canlas‘ photography for a while now.
He shoots 100% film and is well known in the photography world for his Film Is Not Dead workshops.
So when Evelyne & I were asked to model for Jonathan’s recent workshop in London, we jumped at the chance to spend some time on the other side of the camera for a change.
All these photos were taken by Jonathan. I was a fan of his photography. Now I’m a fan of the person too. Top bloke!
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be up in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District.
Windy, wet & cold, but still beautiful.
I was there to spend the day being inspired by supercool Mexican wedding photographer, Fer Juaristi. Fer was doing a workshop alongside the good people of Aspire and, as a huge fan of his work, I made the journey up the M6, not really knowing what to expect.
I believe you should never stop trying to further your photographic eduction. I love attending workshops by my favourite photographers and always come away enthused and inspired. And this workshop was one of the best I’ve attended by far! Fer is such a lovely guy (we ended the day chatting over a beer in a local pub) and some of the techniques and ideas he shared will change the way I shoot and edit my images. I can’t wait to shoot this weekend’s wedding and create photographs I’m excited about.
Huge thanks to Fer for being so open and friendly. Thanks to our models, who braved the winter weather like troopers, and hi fives to the rest of the photographers on the workshop. I was in very good company.

This week I’ve been hosting our first 2-day wedding photography workshop at our studio in Birmingham.
It’s been a fantastic couple of days with such a great group of people. Today my good pals Anna & Simon joined us to model as our bride & groom. They rocked it!!
The AMAZING dress was supplied by Jon at The Couture Company.
Thanks to everyone who came along to the workshop and made the two days so much fun. And thanks to the random art student who took the photo below for us.
Yildiz Hussein is an actress and a beautiful singer. She’s also very patient!
She had asked me to take some portraits for her over the summer, but things were so hectic I only managed to find time for the shoot in October. Hopefully, it was worth the wait….

Heather & Mike booked me to shoot some portraits of them (and their super cute dogs) in and around London a few weeks ago.
The weather could not have been much better!
They get married next May. I’m sure the wedding is going to be beautiful…
James Burrows found me after I photographed his friends’ wedding earlier this year.
He then had the idea of treating his mum to a family photo shoot for her birthday, and I was happy to oblige.
We did the shoot at his mum’s house in Liverpool but then headed around the corner, down to the famous Strawberry Field for some extra shots.
James’ mate, Dave, joined in too. Everyone knows a Dave, right?
Today I held a 1-to-1 workshop at our studio for the very lovely Kirsty Whitaker.
In the afternoon we were joined by Hannah & Ben, who kindly volunteered to stand (and sit) in front of our cameras for a while. Here are just a few of the images that we made…

I recently had a one-to-one workshop at our studio for the lovely photographer, Jeni Smith.
After lunch we headed out onto the local streets in Birmingham where I could show Jeni how I work with a couple, how I use light and get a varied collection of images in a relatively short time.
Our couple on the day were Claire & Paul. They were superstars!!
