They’re already calling it the wedding of the year.
As we speak, Kate & Will are allegedly rethinking their whole theme for the so-called Royal Wedding.
Emma & Pete’s sneak peek post on this very blog smashed the record for the most comments ever. 52 as I’m writing this.
And it was an amazing wedding. And no ordinary wedding..
Emma is well known for her amazing wedding photography, hence much of the interest. On top of that, most people who attended thought they were actually just coming to Emma’s 30th birthday party. Half way through the reception those guests found out it was actually much more than that…
Emma & Pete are very good friends of ours so Evelyne and I were really pleased to not only be asked to photograph the wedding, but also to be invited as guests. We had such a fantastic day!
So, here are some of my favourite images from a truly brilliant day….
Before their official wedding ceremony at Birmingham Register Office, Emma & Pete arranged a first look in a local park. I loved shooting this part of the day and the light was just perfect…
And then it was on to the Register Office in Birmingham for the official part of their wedding…
From there we all jumped on to a canal barge and journeyed up the canal towards Bourneville. Along the way we were treated to some extremely tasty grub
As a surprise, some of their friends whose house backs on to the canal had made this banner
The final part of the day took place at Rowheath Pavillion in Bourneville where the place was decorated with inspiration from 50s proms and the movie Back To The Future.
Emma & Pete changed into their evening outfits and we took some more portraits before the light faded…
And then the announcement was made… this wasn’t actually JUST a 30th birthday party…. the music started…. and the bridesmaids entered.. Emma & her Dad followed… Emma was back into her wedding dress….
People screamed. People cheered. People cried.
And then there was a little marriage blessing and some short speeches…
Party time!
Although the music might have been a little loud for some
The Fun Booth was the best ever. I have so many images I’ll post those in a separate post but here’s a few sneak peeks…
Evelyne & I feel so lucky to call Emma & Pete our friends. We know they have an amazingly happy and fun-filled future ahead of them. Thanks guys for letting us be a part of the wedding of the year
The lovely and talented Joanna Brown also photographed this wedding. Check out her photos HERE
