  • Your West Midlands Wedding Magazine – Cover!!

    8th August 2010 · 1 Comment

Regular viewers may have noticed we’ve had some website issues over the past week or two. Basically, the site was hacked and Google flagged it as having suspicious content. Not good :(

Thankfully, the issue has been fully resolved and we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming.

The good news this week involved our latest magazine cover featuring Germaine from a recent engagement shoot in London. The latest issue of Your West Midlands Wedding mag also features some images from our Warwick Castle shoot with Laura.

    Here’s our cover:

Plenty more blog posts lined up now the site is all happy again so hope to see you soon…

  • The Players’ Lounge – My Latest Magazine Cover :)

    12th September 2009 · No Comments

Anyone that knows me knows that I have pretty much zero interest in football. Some people think I must be interested in football just because of my name.

Not sure how that makes sense but anyway…

I’ve done three shoots now for a football mag called The Players’ Lounge. Two of those shoots have now resulted in front covers which is great. You may remember me travelling to Blackpool recently to shoot Charlie Adam. And here’s the resulting feature in the magazine, which also features my shoot with Coventry manager, Chris Coleman. A couple of my photos from that shoot are below…

  • Another Magazine Cover

    2nd June 2009 · 2 Comments

You may remember a shoot I blogged back in March with West Bromwich Albion play, Paul Robinson. It was for a magazine called Players’ Lounge which goes out to football pros in the UK. I didn’t know until the finished mag landed on my doorstep that one of the images made the front cover!!

    He shoots, he scores!

  • Cancer Bats – Review The Singles

    4th May 2009 · 1 Comment

So I just got back from Birmingham Academy where the amazing Cancer Bats will be headlining later tonight. I was there to meet up with Liam and Mike from the band who were guest reviewers for Rock Sound‘s singles page. We listened to a bunch of new releases and the guys gave me their opinions on what they heard.

Then I got a couple of shots to go with the feature. Here’s Liam and Mike with their favourite singles from the bunch…

… and here they are with their least favourite..

    Great guys. Amazing band.

  • Paul Robinson – West Bromwich Albion

    23rd March 2009 · 3 Comments

Ok ok, I know I’ve been a bad blogger the past week or two. Sorry! In my defence (no pun intended with the images here) I’ve had the busiest week ever with photo shoots and the launch of Bridal Soup. In the past week I have photographed the relaunch of a hi-end salon, a footballer (see images here), a portrait session, an on-the-road report with Gojira, a great wedding and around 120 independent stores around Birmingham city centre with their owner/manager for a new promotional campaign by Retail Birmingham. I managed to almost take a full day off for Mother’s Day but now I’m back in the studio with loads of great images to go through.

On Tuesday I drove over to Stratford-Upon-Avon to meet with West Bromwich Albion defender, Paul Robinson for a portrait session for The Players’ Lounge magazine. Paul said he had a double-take when he saw the name of the photographer he was meeting but was happy it was me shooting this time, not the other Steven Gerrard!

Paul was a lovely guy (his wife had a new baby just 11 days before  met him too) and we quickly got some great, relaxed portraits for the mag. He are some of my faves…

Being in Stratford, we just had to use some of the historic buildings as locations. Hopefully I’ll be doing a shoot for a bridal boutique here soon and I can’t wait!

  • A New York Wedding – Published :)

    4th February 2009 · 3 Comments

You’ll no doubt remember Steve & Steph’s New York wedding from December. Well the new issue of Live 24-Seven magazine hit the streets this week with a fantastic double page spread showcasing their amazing day. It’s great to see the images in print but also to be able to give Steve & Steph a cool souvenir of their day.

And now another magazine wants to feature the wedding too!

  • Tom & Andrea In Print!

    12th January 2009 · 2 Comments

If you read the blog regularly you may remember Tom & Andrea’s wedding from last summer. They were a lovely couple who had such a cool wedding, so it’s great to now see them immortalized in Live 24-Seven magazine.

I just had the magazine delivered to the studio and their spread looks fantastic :) Thanks to Katie at the magazine (she’s interviewing Meryl Streep this week!!) for asking us to contribute. Next month’s issue will feature Steve & Steph’s wedding in New York.

  • The Melvins

    16th October 2008 · 1 Comment

Some bands become legendary and sell out stadiums. Others may still be playing small clubs well into their career but are no less legendary in the eyes of their fans. One such band are The Melvins and I got to spend some time with them recently in Nottingham to get some new photos for Rock Sound magazine. The band were a huge influence on bands such as Nirvana, Tool and Soundgarden and continue to do their own thing. Frontman Buzz was in a band with Kurt Cobain before Nirvana even formed and makes for a great portrait subject wit his crazy “Sideshow Bob”-style hair. Here are my fave photos from our session..

  • Slaves To Gravity

    30th July 2008 · No Comments

I just returned from photographing a gig for Rock Sound magazine featuring a great new band from London called Slaves To Gravity. After the gig I asked the band if I could take a few photos of them in the car park behind the venue and they were good enough to oblige. Here’s just one photo from the shoot..

    STG-1

Slaves To Gravity are all set to tour Japan and the US next and look set for big things. Check out their MySpace page for more.

Today has been a great day. Elliott was back in nursery so Evelyne spent the day in the studio helping me get some stuff organised (she’s more organised than me by far!). We also met Steve & Steph about shooting their wedding in New York in December. I look forward to every wedding but that’s gonna be something special. Can’t wait! We also FINALLY got a fridge and kettle in the studio so now I can make myself (and anyone else who visits) a cup of tea whenever I like. Bliss!

Today we also had another wedding confirmation for 2009 when James called to say he and Lorraine would like us to cover their wedding at Cotswold House in Gloucestershire. It looks like a great venue. James emailed to say “After seeing your work and meeting with you it really was the easiest decision we’ve had to make in all of the planning.” I have a feeling we’re gonna get on just fine :)

  • Restyle Me

    27th May 2008 · No Comments

The new issue of Live 24-Seven magazine is out this week, featuring a shoot I did with Rachele who won a full makeover including shopping spree, nails, make-up and hair. She didn’t want anything too over-the-top as she works in A&E at the hospital and wants to be able to get ready quickly in the mornings. She still had quite a transformation though and was so easy to photograph.

Here’s the spread from the magazine. The only image that’s not mine is her “before” shot which she sent in for the competition…

This Bank Holiday weekend was great fun despite a severe case of miserable weather. Saturday’s wedding with Matt & Sarah was a really nice easy-going day and they were lucky enough to have the only good weather of the weekend. Highbury Hall in Mosely, Birmingham is a dramatic and grand venue and the couple were up for escaping to get some great images of them on their own. (PHOTOS HERE SOON)

The rest of the weekend was a wash-out due to the weather so we used the time to chill out, catch up on some TV (“Dexter” mainly) and try to teach Elliott how to walk. He’s getting good too! He also tried a little pizza for the first time and seemed to enjoy the experience…
