How long do you stay on the wedding day?
As long as you let us! In other words, from the getting ready stage to the drunk-on-the-dancefloor stage.
Where will you travel to shoot a wedding?
Anywhere… Except North Korea and Beirut.
For international weddings we ask that travel expenses and accommodation are covered plus £150 per additional day.
Can we make prints from the disc of hi-res images?
Absolutely! All the photos on the disc are hi-res, edited and ready to print. We will give you a list of places we recommend for quality printing.
Who owns the copyright to our wedding photos?
You will own joint copyright to all photos on your disc. This allows us to use the images for our website, marketing, etc but you are free to print, email and upload to Facebook at your leisure.
Are all the photos on the disc edited?
Yes. All the images have basic editing so that colours look great and have a look we like. We will choose certain images which suit black & white. Any images which we feature on the blog or which you choose for albums, prints etc will have further editing to give them the finished “Steve Gerrard look”. Any other images you wish to receive further editing will be charged at £5 each.
How far in advance of the wedding do we need to book you?
Certain dates are more popular than others and it’s always best to secure your photographer as early as you can. Bookings can be taken up to 3 years before the wedding date but it’s not out of the question for us to accept a booking with just a few days’ notice.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Our albums are hand-made to order by Queensberry and Folio. These albums are quite simply the best in the world.
We will meet with you after the wedding to discuss a wide range of finishes and mounting options so that you receive the perfect album for your images. We love both digital and matted albums but our favourite style is a mix of both.
Do you require a deposit for bookings?
Yep. For weddings, a deposit of £500 is requested to secure that all-important date, with the balance of the fee payable 2 months before the wedding.
Where can we go for our engagement shoot?
Almost anywhere. We like to shoot somewhere different and a place that means something to you but we can also suggest places if you’re happy to go with our ideas. For locations more than 40 miles from Birmingham we request expenses for travel.
What do we do with the images from our engagement shoot?
Many people have a bespoke book made for guests to sign on the wedding day, or perhaps have a print framed for signing. Others have used a framed print as gifts for parents or had a canvas wrap for their own home.
You may also choose to buy all the hi-res files on disc for £250.
How many photographs would you expect to take on our wedding day?
There is no limit to the amount of shots we would take on the day. It all depends on exactly what’s happening but we would estimate between 1500 and 2500 images. We’d aim to show you the best 350 or more.
Do you do any family group photos?
Of course. We think these are important pictures but we suggest limiting group shots to maybe 6 or 7 groups so that we can do these quickly and not interrupt the day for more than 15 minutes or so. We almost always do one group shot of the couple with all the wedding guests together.
Do you have a web gallery for friends and family to purchase prints after the day?
All the images will be put into your personal online gallery (password protected) where your friends and relatives can see them and order prints. We’re more than happy to post anywhere in the world.
How long do you keep the files?
We are legally responsible for your images for 12 months from the wedding date. Although we have never deleted a wedding yet.
What cameras do you use?
Big black heavy expensive ones with lots of lovely round glass attached.
Can you recommend a great band/DJ/cake maker/etc?
We can. We only recommend people we’ve witnessed first hand and know will do a great job. Check out our Useful Links page HERE.
When can we see our pictures?
Proof images are usually ready to view 2 to 3 weeks after the wedding when we’ll invite you in to the studio to watch your own personal slideshow and make choices for your album if you wish to order one. Expect to be with us for a couple of hours. Lucky you!
How many pictures can we have in the album?
As many as you like. The most we’ve had in one album is 164 images!
How does the album design process work?
After you’ve selected which images you’d like in the album we will personally design the layout in the best way possible to tell the story of the day. We will email you a proof to look over and approve before we send everything to our album supplier.
